Whitnash Sports & Social Club

The club was originally formed from two local factories Potterton’s and Flavel’s in 1992 and was named Whitnash Royals. A name we keep today. This year 2017 will be our 25th year. It started with 26 members and used the Hodcarrier Pub as a base until 1999 when we moved to the Whitnash Sports and Social Club.

We currently have 21 members with a limit of 24 because of the size of the local fisheries. Our moto is “Fishing Fun and Friendship”. Our membership covers all age groups from 20-75 years. We try to fish every two weeks if possible from February to December about 20 matches in all. 15 pool matches 4 river matches and 1 canal match. We also fish an annual match against Willenhall  Social Club Coventry for an Interclub Shield. Our members also help with the junior angling committee (J.A.C.) at the Kingfisher Pool in Warwick

Along with the Porto and Eagle fishing clubs we lease a section of the River Avon at Warwick. Apart from fishing we run two Quizzes  a year at the club.
