Club History The bowls section first began in 1962 (3 years after the original sports club had been created) and celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2022. In recent years the club has spent a considerable amount of money on achieving one of the best flat bowling greens in Warwickshire and this year will be getting Avonmore to further improve the green in 2026 As a result of the continued great work by our members the club is now one of the few chosen venues for the Finals of County Competitions and this year will be holding the County Juniors Singles Day June 28th, County Juniors Pairs Day July 19th, Plus the Senior 4's / Mixed Pairs Semi Finals Amongst its membership the Bowls Section has a number of National and County Champions. In 2010 Club members won the County Men’s Pairs, the County Mixed Pairs and the County over 55’s Ladies Pairs. The club has two qualified coaches and training courses are offered to all new bowlers. These coaches both hold CRB certification to work with children and young persons. In the 2025 season the club won the Wardrop Cup, first time since 1977 and also collected the Monday Night A League Title for the first time in the club's history, plus, we had the County Junior Champion, Josh Hancock, and the B Team also won the Monday Night C League Title congratulations to all involved. This season we will be looking for more success and introducing a C Team on Mondays to further grow our competitive bowlers.
